I didn't meet Desta until our early adulthood while we both worked at Social Security. Her Aunt Norma was my beloved mentor. She adored her niece so much. But then again, everyone loved Desta. Her smile was contagious and her sense of humor was fabulous. I remember most her love for Def Leopard and seeing her zip into our parking lot in her car with the bands name across her windshield. She was a pure joy to be around.
