I have many, many memories of Desta but my first memory of Desta was in Mrs. Hood's class. She was sitting on the front row and Nicole Barton and I were sitting toward the back. Nicole introduced me to Desta and I remember her looking back from the front row with that beautiful smile of hers. That was the beginning of our long friendship.
